Titanium with richard Sewell

In this episode, Anna is joined by maker, software engineer and roboticist Richard Sewell to discuss all things titanium. Richard has taught and demonstrated various metal-working techniques with titanium by making sporks with people in various fields across the UK. We spent the afternoon making our own, as well as a titanium squiggle necklace, coloured blue with oxidation. Check out the photos from the day below, and more of Richard’s titanium creations.

About Richard

Richard Sewell is a software engineer, accidental roboticist, and an eclectic maker with an interest in metal, in novel interactive objects, and in things that can be inflated. He’s made social robots for television, and he’s taught cutlery-making in fields. He’s especially interested in all the ways metal can be worked by hitting it, and consequently has an enormous collection of hammers.
