Wool with Leah Richards

This episode Anna talks to knitter Leah Richards about wool. Not only did we see a demonstration of Leah’s skill in making, but also her dedication to the craft; spinning her own yarns from wool by hand. We talked about knitting as a political feminist act and Anna found a surprising overlap with her own research in the discussion about structure/property relationships in knitted fabrics.

About Leah

Leah learned to knit at her mother's knee at the age of 12 and just hasn't stopped since. Craft Creep took over and now she owns a spinning wheel and a cupboard full of fleeces. She hasn't made a career out of being obsessed with wool yet, but it's worth it to do some things just for fun.
